Fantastic! Milan’s San Siro Stadium includes the first football museum dedicated to the history of the town’s two football teams Milan and Inter These two football teams have always been among the strongest in Italy and at international level! Set up thanks to the private collection of Onorato Arisi, a former business consultant bitten by the football bug, the museum was inaugurated on October 5th, 1996. The museum also includes a cinema screening a beautiful film about the history of the Milan and Inter clubs and the San Siro Stadium. One of the rooms holds 24 life-size statues of the greatest champions of all time of the two Milanese teams. Another room is dedicated to Europe’s most significant clubs such as Manchester United and Real Madrid. With peaks of 100 thousand visitors a year (mostly from abroad), on Fridays the museum is open to schools from Lombardy and other Italian regions. Moreover, visitors have the fantastic opportunity of taking a closer look at the beautiful San Siro Stadium thanks to a guided tour. Built in 1926, the stadium has been restored and enlarged several times in the course of the years. Currently it can seat about 85,000 people. The stadium has hosted many highlight events such as the World Championships (editions 1934, 1990), the matches of the Italian national team and some of the finals of the Champions League.
