“Berna's the Best!”
5 su 5 stelle
I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Berna. We just returned from a two-week holiday in Italy and Berna was both our first and last stop of our trip. From Malpensa Airport, we hopped on a train which took us to Milano Centrale Train Station. Hotel Berna was literally a five-minute walk from the train station, which couldn't have been more convenient. Thankfully, our room was ready upon arrival (we requested an early check-in since our overnight flight arrived at 8:00 AM). The room was extremely meticulous and modern while offering a very comfortable place to rest after a long journey. I adored the rubber ducks in the bathroom as I had never seen that in a hotel before! It added a sense of playfulness which certainly appealed to my inner child! The breakfast at Berna was certainly the best! You could never run out of options, from fresh, scrambled eggs, sausages, a variety of pastries and breads, fresh fruit and beverages galore. The staff was always helpful, preparing your morning coffee any way you like. They even offered us some travel advice as to what places to visit surrounding Milan. Throughout the reservation process, the hotel's website shows pictures of their staff members. When I arrived at the hotel, I felt like I already knew everyone! They really were amazing people, especially Paolo, the front desk manager. He endured our attempts to only speak Italian and gave constructive feedback when necessary (something we welcomed as we are trying to learn the language). I would absolutely return to Hotel Berna in the future. It was truly a wonderful experience for both me and my husband!
Consiglio sulle camere: The fourth and fifth floors house the superior rooms, where we stayed both times on our trip.
“Close to Milan central train station, nice breakfast and service”

Excellent service of both front office and breakfast teams. And a nice breakfast with many choices. Free mini-bar drinks in room.
However, hotel needs renovations (and currently is under some renovations), as it is a bit worn-out.
The room we stayed in (room 109) had a weird stuffy smell, maybe from the a/c, not sure what.
Consiglio sulle camere: Ask for an upper floor.
“Hotel Berna - a great place to stay”

The rooms are good, although ours was next to the lifts so a little noisy at times. The breakfast was excellent. Huge variety of food & fresh carrots for juicing. The staff were very helpful whenever we asked any questions or wanted to know anything.
Free mini bar in room, with Coke, juice, water & San Pelligrino was nice.
When we checked out we were offered biscuits & bottles of water to take on our train trip.
While not in the centre of Milan. It is 5mins walk from the train station, but in a nice area. There Re trams, buses & metro to get to the centre. Although it's only about a 25-30 minute walk.
If we return to Milan we would def stay here again.
Consiglio sulle camere: The second floor was being renovated while we were there so if the rooms are anything like the 4th floor
“Location, great service, amazing breakfast and free Wifi”

I went to Milan for a three day business trip. Hotel Berna was my first option due to the location and some of the reviews - it's only 5-8 minutes walk from the Train Central Station. I've arrived to Milan, using the Malpensa Express train from the Airport; so in less than one hour I was checking in.
The booking was done online, so the hotel has everything really well automated - after I got the confirmation, an access to a personalised page with my reservation enabled me to add additional services or make changes. I also had the chance to make an advanced check-in. It worked great, as I only needed to show my id and signed the usual legal stuff. Took 2 minutes on arrival. They also work great with mobile SMS, welcoming you and thanking you back. It's a small detail but is welcome.
The overall experience was very good. All the staff was amazingly kind and ready to help. This is a plus when you're travelling in business and need odd stuff later at night like an ironing board or to eat something at 11PM on a Sunday.
- Wi-Fi: with an average speed of 20Mbps, is available anywhere in the hotel with strong signal and totally free;
- Breakfast: this was good. From the natural carrot juice to the variety of food for every taste, it was not exaggerated but was diverse and plenty for everyone's taste. The service was once again great;
- Bar: this was a great surprise... There's complementary food if you consume any drink.
- Mini-Bar: all the soft drinks at your mini-bar are free.
- Room: well, my room was a single room - this means a smaller room, with a single bed. It was comfortable (and cozy) but I personally prefer bigger rooms, so next time I'll book a double room. Everything else was ok, although I felt that the standard of the room is more for a 3.5* hotel and not a 4*. I've noticed some refurbishment was being done, so I hope this will update the rooms.
- The duck: yep, there's a duck in your room :-)
Everything else is about location, and the easy access to the tube, taxis and to the rail station is definitely a most.
I'll get back for sure for this hotel.

Awesome buffet breakfast offerings with terrific breakfast staff. Unfortunately water started leaking from our ceiling one day, needed to alert the hotel as the carpet was getting soaked, then while out sightseeing, a bowl full of chocolates was taken from our room. The chocolates were provided with our room but then taken away after a couple of nights. No reason given and no answer when asked why. Shame because otherwise a great stay.
